Nourishing and hosting cultures of commoning, care and kinship

We are living in a crucial time, a time of awakening, of searching for collective liberation and for a sense of belonging. It’s also a time of collapse, where systems of oppression are dismantling our ecosystems and webs of life. We feel the need and responsibility to navigate these challenging times through a collective enquiry:

How can we nourish cultures of care and kinship to co-create regenerative ways of living?

The CitizensLab is a living lab and a community of practice, where diverse actors of societal transformation processes, systems leaders, hosts, facilitators, healers, provocateurs and community organisers join our experiential learning formats, workshops, and gatherings.

We bring a regenerative approach into the field of citizen engagement, integrating the cognitive, the emotional and the physical body as we seek to rewrite current narratives of democracy.

We see the urgency of reclaiming communal and collective ways of relating, as the foundation to imagine new forms of living and organising our society.

The urgency of reappropriating the capacity of taking collective decisions and responsibilities, to overcome the individualistic logics of reproduction, control, and separation.

The urgency of expanding our ties, the capacity to trust and build deeper relations where a culture of care, kinship and commoning can give us the courage to overcome our fears, to heal and get stronger in this collective liberation.

“The kind of change we are after is cellular as well as institutional, is personal and intimate, is collective as well as cultural. We are making love synonymous with justice.” – Prentis Hemphill
