Banu Pekol

I specialize in the conservation of historical heritage of minorities. Through creative as well as research–based projects to preserve heritage especially of contested heritage sites, I work to find concrete ways for communities to embrace and preserve heritage, regardless of the ethnic or religious community that built it. My organisation the Association for the Protection of Cultural Heritage (KMKD) was founded in order to respond to the urgent need to protect and preserve the heritage of minority groups.
